To produce students with an extremely
high level of competence typically gained
only through exposure to the computer
graphics industry.  We are focused on
comprehensive cg training for the
feature film, television and video gaming
industries.  With our contacts in studio
recruitment and working professional
artists, CGLC can provide training that
correlates directly with studio needs.
Professional Guest Instruction
Along with highly skilled base instructors, industry veterans with many years of experience
from Hollywood's top studios will be presenting from time to time at the Computer Graphics
Learning Center.  These working artist's instruction and critiques will guide the student's
growth toward specific industry standards.  The contacts students will make at CGLC will be
unlike anything else available in this type of educational environment.

Real World Studio Training
The Computer Graphics Learning Center  features an open floor studio design with a
screening theater for instruction and reviews.  Students will have their own workstation during
class time.  Each workstation contains a high performance  computer capable of performing
any graphics task that a student chooses to explore with the exact limitations of a true
production pipeline.  Each section of learning will be subject to the "dailies" review process to
check on student's progress.  Students will learn the importance of digital asset
management, understanding and utilizing critiques, working with deadlines, and how each
person's role at a real studio contributes to the project as a whole.

Hands-on Application
Classes will be taught 70/30 where 70% of the student's time will be hands-on, performing
the lessons shown.  Students will be able to carry out all instruction with an instructor on-site
to assist.

Short Shorts Program
This ground breaking program gives students the opportunity to develop their own short film
or game concept.  Each student will start with an outline of their story which will progress
throughout the year until a full story arc is realized. Students at the Computer Graphics
Learning Center will learn how to pitch short film and game projects to potential investors
while keeping their intellectual properties safe under copyright laws.  Project concepts can be
volunteered for production within the school year.  Students will break out into teams to work
on these films as their final projects.

Low Student to Teacher Ratio
The Computer Graphics Learning Center prides itself on being a boutique cg visual effects
and animation school.  Unlike other large schools that lack instructor support, CGLC has an
exceptionally low student to faculty ratio.

The computer graphics industry in North Carolina has simply exploded.  With over 30
companies in the Raleigh area alone, (including some of the world's top game companies
such as Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Red Storm Entertainment, and the newly expanded
California-based Insomniac Games) there has never been a greater need for high-end
computer graphics training on the East coast.  North Carolina is also second only to
California in revenues derived from the film industry with over 300 feature films, mini-series,
television movies and six television series created here in the past 20 years.

The Computer Graphics Learning Center is here to prepare students for this competitive, ever
expanding industry by providing instruction and contacts from within today's top studios.  Our
guest instructors are working professionals who take time away from the latest big-budget
movie, tv series or video game in order to teach lessons and critique CGLC students.
